Closer Alignment between Hillary Institute & EHF to unlock potential

Group CEO Rosalie Nelson, 11th Hillary Laureate Vanessa Nakate, and Hillary Institute Founder & Kaitiaki/Guardian Mark Prain, New York.

The Hillary Institute and Edmund Hillary Fellowship (EHF) have been on an integration journey establishing unified governance structures and organisational resources since 2020. In 2021 this led to the appointment of Anna Kominik as Chair and Rosalie Nelson as the new Chief Executive.

Due to the disruption created by Covid, the full transition of operations to the Chief Executive was postponed.

As of 1 September this year, Rosalie became Group CEO taking up leadership of the Hillary Institute from the organisation’s founder, Mark Prain*, who has started a new Kaitiaki/Guardian role supporting the Board - a position which recognises the depth of relationships, legacy and leadership he brings.

The closer alignment of both organisations is intended to unlock the potential of two extraordinary groups - Fellows and Laureates - to create impact at a larger scale, around some of our toughest global challenges, such as climate change.

* Mark is also writing “The First 11 – The Hillary Laureate Story”, due for publication in late 2023, to celebrate the 70th anniversary year of Sir Edmund Hillary’s summiting of Mt Everest.
